Burnley Bling on Tour

Transport yourself to sunnier climes with this Thai twist on our burnley bling cocktail

We originally developed the Batch Burnley Bling back in the early days when we distilled in the basement. It’s a take on the classic Singapore Sling cocktail, which was originally developed at the Raffles Hotel in 1915, and we love the addition of Benedictine in this recipe! We’ve taken our Burnley creation on a Thai tour with the addition of the southeast asian flavours found in Batch Lime Leaf Gin.

Did you know that Burnley is the biggest consumer of Benedictine in the world?! There are a blend of 27 herbs in Benedictine and this liquour was first brought back to Lancashire after WW1. During which the home of Benedictine, Fecamp Abbey in Normandy, was used as a hospital and Benedictine was served to East Lancashire troops for its medicinal purposes. Lancashire has loved it ever since!

For this cocktail you will need

50ml Lime Leaf Gin
25ml Benedictine
25ml freshly squeezed lime juice
1 bar spoon of simple syrup
50ml soda
20ml cherry brandy
Slice of lemon and a maraschino cherry to garnish

To Make

Fill a shaker with ice and add the Lime Leaf Gin, Benedictine, lime juice and sugar syrup. Shake well! Strain into a highball glass over ice. Top with soda water and pour the cherry brandy over the back of a bar spoon. Garnish with lemon slice and maraschino cherry – cheers!
