Ginception Gin

May’s gin has landed!

We love a collaboration here at HQ and this month we are delighted to showcase a gin created and distilled by Batch, with a little help from our friends at Ginception!

We met friends Neal and Paul back in March 2018. They’d been busy working on converting a horse trailer and believe or not, were looking for gin supplies! After one too many on New Years Eve 2017, their aspirations turned into reality and the guys set about turning a tired trailer into a mobile gin bar. Looking to source only local gins they approached us for some top quality spirits.

We caught up with Ginception to chat all things gin and of course, this month’s Innovation.

Tell us a little bit about how the idea came about

Back at a New Years Eve party in 2017, with over 50 gins behind the bar we thought we were in for a real treat. When we asked the barman about the gins, tonics and garnish choices we weren’t very impressed with his reaction. With only a couple of tonic and garnish options, we could see there was way more potential and that sparked a real enthusiasm for us! We wanted to push that idea out to the public and educate people about proper gin and tonics. Two weeks later we bought the trailer.

Tell us a bit more about Ginception mobile bars

It’s gone from being just an idea between friends – when we launched it as a brand the concept of it took off quicker than us. Before we knew it we were taking bookings left, right and centre. We knew we had something a little bit special and because of that it launched quicker than we could. That forced us to up our game. We attend celebratory events, weddings and corporate events serving up the finest gin and tonics, cocktails and cask ales.

What’s been your favourite Batch Innovation so far?

Both: Buddha’s Hand without a doubt!

Why collab with Batch?

Batch were the first brand we approached back in March 2018 so it was Batch gins from get-go. From day one Batch put us on a path that introduced us to a number of different people in the industry. Had it not been for that introduction we might not have found that very path. We’re grateful for that and all of the support that followed.

What was it like working with the team at Batch?

We love that it’s local. The freedom and input we had, paired with Ollie’s creativity worked really well too. Nothing was too big or small and Ollie allowed us to run with our ideas!

How do you serve Ginception Gin?

Pair it with Fever-Tree Elderflower tonic and garnish with peach, a frozen raspberry and sprig of rosemary.

What’s next for Ginception?

We’re expanding – think multiple trailers across the country. We want to carry on influencing and serving up perfect gin and tonic combos! We see ourselves as brand ambassadors for Batch so we’ll definitely carry on working with the team. Find out more about us HERE
