Introducing July’s Innovations Club release, Mocha Gin!
Mocha Gin is inspired by Distiller, Ryan, and his love for this chocolatey-coffee beverage. A sweet, rich aroma leads to notes of dark roast coffee, balanced with waves of creamy chocolate. With notes of honeyed fig and chocolate praline, this gin is luscious and indulgent. In the height of summer when the stills are fired up and distillery is filled with fragrant, hot botanical aromas, Ryan turns to ice cold coffee to take the edge off. It’s essential someone makes a trip to a local barista for mocha frappuccino or the gin might not get distilled!
Ryan’s sweet tooth is definitely out to play again this month. Bitter chocolate and roast coffee notes are balanced with rich, honeyed fig and vanilla, and a touch of homemade coffee syrup compliment the fruity blend of coffee Ryan used in distillation. Incredibly, this well balanced recipe only took one attempt! Initially Ryan was concerned that the flavours from the coffee beans wouldn’t come though strong enough in distillation, but he was proven wrong and the first experiment was so good we settled on this recipe. Ryan then made a coffee and cocoa sugar syrup to add a little extra sweetness to this gin, bringing out full on mocha notes.
Head Distiller, Ryan, has been waiting a long time to produce a coffee flavoured gin for the Club, so he’s more than excited for it to land with all our Innovators this July. As always, let us know what you think and share your pics on socail!
July’s label artwork is created by Bodie Cameron. “I wanted to mashup South American repeat patterns with some clean vectors and a little 70’s lounge vibes in the font and texture. I was thinking how it (the gin) would taste with a whipped ice cream float and maple syrup on a scorching hot day and it felt good!”
Serve over ice with Indian tonic and garnish with a slice if orange and a sprig of mint.
June’s Club cocktail is bold, invigorating and indulgent. Literally jam-packed with all our favourite things, gin, coffee, chocolate and ice cream! This boozy Frappuccino will become your go-to summer cooler, even if you’re not in a hot distillery!
You will need:
Handful of ice
1 shot espresso, cooled
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
50ml Mocha Gin
50ml coffee liqueur
Place the ice, coffee, ice cream, Mocha Gin and coffee liqueur into a blender. Pulse first then blend on high until the ice is fine. Garnish the inside of two glasses with chocolate sauce. Divide the mixture into the glasses and top with as much Squirty cream and chocolate sauce as you can handle!

Chocolate Espresso Martini
You will need:
50ml Mocha Gin
25ml chocolate liqueur
1 shot espresso
1 tbsp chocolate syrup
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the Mocha Gin, chocolate liqueur, Kahlua, and chocolate syrup and cooled coffee. Shake well until frothy.
Strain into the martini glass.
