Believe it or not, the ideas for our best, and often most whacky, creations often come to us when we’re not even in the distillery! This month’s gin is inspired by a dream our distillery, Ryan had…
“So it’s 2-3am and I wake up alarmingly, rushing for pen and paper to write down some info about the dream I’m having. It’s not not just any old dream though, it’s a real lightbulb moment. Bursting with ideas, not only was is dream a lightbulb moment it is a new idea, a creation of innovative technology that could change the way people choose to distill in the future”.
Almost six years later, Ryan can’t shake this dream, or his hunger to work on something new and innovative. So we chat to Ryan about the dream he has and his ideas. It’s obvious he’s passionate, not just about creating new flavours but inventions for distilling too!
“I believe the industry would definitely benefit from a new method of distilling as the whole creation is based on pulling flavours and essential oils from fruits, herbs and nuts that you wouldn’t normally be able to taste when distilling by just using vapour infusion.”
I feel like this was a calling, more than an idea and that’s why I am so passionate about this method. I mean come on who has a dream about an invention that’s something you’d usually see in a movie not real life!”. He jokes but Ryan would love for this piece of technology to be made available. So much so, we’re working on it.
“My ideal scenario would be to create the design and experiment with the technology, and then eventually go on to sell this said invention. The benefit of the new method is that tricky flavours like watermelon would come through. I hope you enjoy trying my experimental version of this gin. It’s a really tricky flavour to pull through distillation alone and I had lots of fun playing around with these flavours.”.
