This month’s gin will transport you back to the pinnacle of many childhood memories. Standing at the sweet shop counter, gazing up at all those mighty jars filled with sweet treats. Back in the day our Head Distiller, Ollie, would spend his pocket money on a quarter of Blackcurrant and Liquorice sweets. September’s Innovations release replicates those flavours.
Just as your mouth would water as the shopkeeper measured out the sweets, this gin will do the same as you pour your measure for that sweet, yet sharp, G&T.

This special release has been one the whole team at Batch have loved the development of. We had to subject ourselves to a few taste tests until our Distiller nailed the experience of sucking on a blackcurrant and liquorice sweet, in gin form! Ollie loved finding a way of making a sweet gin with adding only a touch (and we mean touch!) of sugar to the batch. Using lots of blackcurrants he has achieved sweet and sharp notes and a gorgeous bold colour. The whole process of distilling this gin has been filled with fun and childhood nostalgia.
This gin is totally delectable to sip on neat with no ice. But this month’s perfect serve is over ice, topped with tonic and garnished with a slice of apple and a sprig of mint. If you have a sweet tooth and you’re feeling creative, try rimming the glass with sherbet!
