Christmas Spiced French 75

This cocktail is simple, elegant and perfect for celebrations. We’ve put a Christmas twist on a gin classic, by using winter spiced sugar syrup and swapping the lemon for orange. The sugar syrup is easy to make at home and chances are, you might even have some lying about in the form of an autumn coffee syrup.

You will need

Winter spiced sugar syrup
1 orange
Batch Christmas Gin
Champagne
Ice
A cocktail shaker
Flute glasses

To make your own spiced sugar syrup; We used brown sugar for a rich golden colour and deep flavour. Heat equal parts brown sugar and water in a saucepan with your winter spices: Cinnamon, cloves, all spice berries and orange zest. Bring to the boil and simmer until the sugar has dissolved, stirring occasionally. Leave to cool and strain into a jar.
