Trick or treat, fiery and sweet,
Here is something to sip neat.
With every guzzle, there’s a tale to tell,
This magic potion made by Batch’s spell.
As our cauldron bubbles, the spirits rise,
Now sup this drink beneath haunted skies.
Cheer for the night, toast the scene,
Let the drinks flow on this eerie Halloween
Introducing Batch’s fifth Halloween spirit in the Innovations series, Trick or Treat. A gin bubbled to perfection in our stills just for the spooky season!
Ryan says… “While trying to make a spiced seasonal gin, I was experimenting with flavours. When trying to make a pumpkin syrup, I made something very similar to what tasted like spicy cola bottles. Bizarre, I know!”
“Although experimenting with these flavours was challenging I actually ended up with a nice, sweet yet fiery product that is perfect for the colder months to come and of course Halloween!”
Sweet and spicy, it’s oh so nice-y on the nose. With an almost fireball candy finish on the pallet this gin evokes proper, seasonal vibes. Hey autumn.
Spooks courtesy of Bodie this season, and we are absolutely loving this month’s label design. Bodie chatted to us about his work:
“Halloween is my favourite time of the year. I love that you can turn into anything you’d like to be in the name of it. Last year I was an undead skateboarder from Tokyo, no one batted an eyelid. I reckon we should have more days like that. The Samhain symbol is in the design as a nod to the origins of Halloween and I had a lot of fun making the pumpkin scarecrow character and the house in the background is a haunted one I used to live in. Hope you enjoy the Gin and the eve. Keep it Spooky!”
Serve over ice with a squeeze of lemon juice and top with soda. Garnish with a syringe full of grenadine.
5ml liquid blue food colouring
50ml Trick or Treat Gin
25ml white rum
Dash of lime cordial
Freshly squeezed lemon juice
Sugar syrup (optional)
Cloudy apple juice
Lemon twist and blueberries to garnish
Put the food colouring into a highball glass. Put ice cubes into a cocktail shaker with the gin, white rum, lime cordial, lemon juice and sugar syrup. Shake well. Strain into glass tilting the glass slightly so the cocktail hits the side of the glass before it hits the bottom. Gently top up with the apple juice. Give the base a gentle stir to create an ombre effect. Garnish with a lemon twist and blueberries.
